Alim indicted
DHAKA: The International Crime Tribunal-2 on Monday framed charges against detained BNP lawmaker Abdul Alim.
The three-member tribunal-2 led by Justice ATM Fazle Kabir passed the order on the basis of 17 charges out of 28.
The former minister was made an accused as the commander of Mahakuma Rajakar Bahini under section 4 (2) of International Crimes Tribunal. Source: banglanews24.com.
On March 15, 2012, prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Advocate Rana Dasgupta submitted formal charges against the BNP leader.
On March 22, the tribunal fixed March 27 for giving order on whether the charges take into cognizance or not against Alim.
On March 27, ICT took into cognizance the formal charges of crime against humanity against BNP leader also ex-minister Abdul Alim for his role during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
On March 27 in 2010, Abdul Alim was arrested from his Joypurhat home-district.
